Fellowship
The ERAI Fellowship is an ethics- and governance-led executive programme that equips journalists to interrogate AI systems, report responsibly on their societal impact, and uphold public trust in an AI-driven information ecosystem. Through lectures, seminars, labs, and industry-relevant capstones, fellows will learn how to explore the ethical and governance debates surrounding AI in public communication, develop verification strategies for synthetic media, recognise and report on algorithmic bias—particularly in the Global South—and design responsible AI practices for newsroom contexts, while joining a global community of peers committed to strengthening public understanding of AI. At a time when AI systems increasingly shape what people see, believe, and trust, the role of journalists extends beyond reporting new technologies. The ERAI Fellowship exists to support that responsibility—strengthening the ethical guardrails, governance literacy, and public-interest reporting needed in contexts where the stakes are high and the margins for error are small.
