Okechukwu “Okey” Omeire is a West Africa Producer with Deutsche Welle (DW), based in Lagos, Nigeria. His reporting focuses on climate, energy, development, governance and culture across West Africa, with a particular interest in how major public issues shape everyday life. Beyond daily journalism, he explores innovative storytelling approaches that help audiences better understand complex issues. He is the creator of Narrative Architecture, a storytelling practice focused on observation, meaning-making and public understanding, and is currently developing Lagos Speaks, a narrative journalism project that follows everyday observations to uncover deeper insights about society. Through his work, he aims to make important stories accessible, engaging and human-centred.
