Prashanti Tyagi is a journalist and content producer with over six years of experience across NDTV, Mojo Story with Barkha Dutt, and The Indian Express Screen, where she currently works.
In 2023, she was named to the E4M 40 Under 40 list as an English Journalist of the Year. Her COVID-19 ground coverage won multiple awards and remains some of the work she is most proud of. She has also produced a documentary on the President of India that crossed five million views, and scaled Mojo Story’s YouTube channel from 80,000 to nearly one million subscribers in under a year.
She came to the ERAI Fellowship with a conviction that AI in journalism is an iceberg. What is visible is only a fraction of what needs to be examined, questioned, and understood.
And she did not wait to be told to start digging. She has already built a web app that performs deepfake detection checks. The tool exists. It works. What this fellowship represents for her is the difference between a prototype and something that can actually matter at scale.
